Roberto Montagna Nasce a Montagnana il 29 aprile del 1981 da padre muratore e madre operaia. All’età di 11 anni si iscrive all’istituto di scuola media inferiore “Luigi Chinaglia” nella sezione sperimentale di musica, studiando il flauto traverso. Terminati i tre anni, per cause di forza maggiore non può continuare gli studi musicali così frequenta l’istituto professionale “Leonardo Da Vinci” di Noventa Vicentina alla sezione di meccanica. Approdato nel mondo del lavoro vive, negli anni seguenti, due esperienze in altrettante piccole imprese artigiane metalmeccaniche, dove quotidianamente è chiamato allo scrupolo verso i particolari costruttivi fondamentali e a sviluppare l’elasticità mentale verso le metodologie da inventare ed applicare di volta in volta. Nel 2007 conosce un artigiano falegname e con esso, una volta appresi i primi rudimenti di falegnameria, inizia il progetto di costruire una chitarra per sé, strumento del quale è autodidatta per passione, e, grazie a questa amicizia, la realizza. Comincia da qui lo studio personale della liuteria protesa agli strumenti ad arco, analizzando testi e strumenti esposti di varie epoche. Nel 2009 conosce il M° Fabio Chiari, poco dopo ne diviene allievo e ne segue le orme nello studio e nella ricerca della liuteria classica frequentando tutt'ora il suo laboratorio. Roberto Montagna, benché di origini venete, è presente tra i Liutai Toscani d’Oggi poiché la costruzione dei suoi strumenti è di scuola puramente toscana ed ispirata a tale territorio, dalla scelta dei legni ai particolari costruttivi. Attualmente vive a Casale di Scodosia dedicandosi alla sola costruzione di strumenti ad arco, paese limitrofo alla Città Murata di Montagnana, già essa natia dei due tenori Martinelli e Pertile e della famiglia di liutai Degani.

In 2007 He known an artisan carpenter and with he, once he learned the first rudiment of carpentry, He started he began the project to build a guitar for himself, tool of which is autodidactic for passion, and thanks to this friendship, He realized it. It starts from here the personal study of the liuteria stretched out to the tools to arc analyzing texts and tools exposed of various epochs. In 2009 He known the M° Fabio Chiari, after that he became of it and followed the tracks of it in the study and in the search of the classical liuteria still attending his laboratory.Roberto Montagna, although of Venetian origins it is present among the Tuscan liutais of today since the construction of its tools is of purely Tuscan school and inspired to such territory from the choise of the woods to the constructive details. Actually He lives in Casale di Scodosia devoting himself to the alone construction of the tools to arc, neighboring country of the walled city of Montagnana, already it native of the ways Martinelli and Pertile and the liutai family Degani.
